By accessing or using Heritage.KRD ("the Site", "the Platform", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Site.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Site. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the Terms were last revised.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Heritage.KRD. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you must be at least 16 years of age, or have verifiable parental or guardian consent. By registering an account, you represent that you meet the applicable age requirement.
By using the Site, you also represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement and are not prohibited from doing so under applicable law.
Heritage.KRD is a digital archive and educational platform dedicated to preserving and promoting Kurdish civilization, history, art, language, and culture. The platform is provided for informational, educational, and cultural purposes.
To access certain features (such as submitting contributions or uploading photos), you must register for an account. When you register, you agree to:

All original content on Heritage.KRD – including text, design, layout, graphics, curation, and source code – is the property of Heritage.KRD and is protected by copyright law.
Images sourced from Wikimedia Commons and other open-licence repositories are used under their respective Creative Commons licences. Attribution is provided inline where required.
You may quote or share content from Heritage.KRD for non-commercial, educational purposes, provided you credit Heritage.KRD as the source and include a link back to the original page. Any other reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use requires our prior written permission.
Heritage.KRD respects intellectual property rights worldwide and will act swiftly on valid takedown notices. If you believe that content on Heritage.KRD infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to legal@heritage.krd including:

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account, with or without notice, if we determine in our sole discretion that you have:
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@heritage.krd. Upon account deletion, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Content you have submitted may remain on the platform unless you also request its removal.
Heritage.KRD is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
While we strive for accuracy in all historical and cultural content, Heritage.KRD is a community-informed archive and we make no representations or warranties about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or timeliness of any information on the Site.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Heritage.KRD, its operators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages – including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, or business interruption – arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Heritage.KRD and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Site; (b) any Contribution or photo you submit; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.
Heritage.KRD shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, internet outages, power failures, government actions, cyberattacks, or other events outside our reasonable control. This expressly includes failures or delays caused by third-party infrastructure providers, including but not limited to SMS gateway providers, telecommunications networks, and content delivery networks, whose availability and reliability are beyond our operational control.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. This includes, where applicable, Law No. 6 of 2008 on the Misuse of Electronic Devices in the Kurdistan Region, which governs unauthorised access to computer systems, system interference, and the distribution of illegal or defamatory content through electronic means. Any conduct by users that violates that law – including attempted cyberattacks, unauthorised access to our systems, or the submission of unlawful content – may be referred to the appropriate authorities in addition to resulting in immediate account termination.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation in the first instance. If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, it shall be submitted to the competent courts of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
If you are a consumer located in the EU, you also have access to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Heritage.KRD regarding your use of the Site and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
